Florida Title Agent Licensing
In 1993, when licensing of title agents began in Florida, Karen Koogler
wrote the Florida Study Manual and created
the
40-Hour Licensing course and
Exam Prep course. Today, The Koogler Group remains the only “school”
in Florida dedicated to title agent licensing and continuing education.
Application Process
Apply online with the Florida Department of Financial Services (www.fldfs.com)
for your 4-10 Title Agent license and/or your 4-13 Title Agency license
(for those opening new agencies).
Pre-Licensing Courses — Qualification Process
If you are new to the title insurance industry or have less than
one year of responsible title duties (closing, title search, examination,
policy issuance, escrow handling, etc.) you will be required to take
and pass the
40-Hour
Licensing course prior to sitting for the state exam.
If you qualify to sit for the state exam based on your experience
(see above) you are not required to take the
40-Hour
Licensing course. You may study on your own from the
Florida Study Manual and
Interactive
Review CD, and/or you may choose to attend the one-day
Exam Prep course offered by The Koogler Group.
