FIVE STAR BEST PRACTICES
As the industry begins its recovery, state regulators are once again focusing on the recommendations contained in the April 2007 GAO Report — Title Insurance: Actions Needed to Improve Oversight of the Title Industry and Better Protect Consumers —which encourages “strengthening the regulation of title agents through means such as establishing meaningful requirements for capitalization, licensing, and continuing education.”
Once fully established, the Academy will offer online courses created by The Koogler Group and other leading educators throughout the country, as well as classroom courses and seminars that promote Five Star Best Practices. Our goal is to invite qualified industry educators from every state to collaborate in creating a full-range academic program of meaningful industry education aimed at three levels: (1) Basic [Jobskills]; (2) Intermediate [Prelicensing]; and Advanced [Certification]. We already have a great start, with the three new Multi-State Study Manuals:
In addition to the above, we have several state-specific licensing and certification manuals, most of which include either interactive test CDs or online testing components:
And, last but certainly not least, the Academy will sponsor the Koogler Group’s new Integrative TILA/RESPA Reform Program, a long-term [18-24 month] Program providing full rulemaking and step-by-step implementation coverage of the CFPB’s Integrative TILA/RESPA Final Rule. Our goal is to partner with state land title associations throughout the country to not only provide your members with the highest-quality educational programs available but, also, to create new revenue streams for state associations. We are able to do that in several ways.
For state title associations and/or underwriters interested in hopping on the prelicensing and certification bandwagon, please contact Karen at KarenKoogler@KooglerGroup.com to discuss how The Koogler Group can customize our Multi-State Study Manuals and online testing programs to include YOUR state-specific information. In addition, we have mix and match course modules ready to deliver classroom or online instruction for prelicensing or certification programs – suited to match your state-specific needs. Courses can range from as little as 16-hours to as long as 40-hours. Karen designed all the components – study manuals, interactive CDs, online testing programs, classroom and online courses in a modular fashion – enabling us to affordably customize everything to your specifications and get YOUR program up and running in record time.
We designed the wheel. All you need to do is to commit to a future of meaningful industry education and hop on the prelicensing and certification bandwagon! This is a real game-changer for the title insurance industry – and nobody does it better than The Koogler Group, in collaboration with quality industry educators throughout the country. Karen Koogler is the leading author of title insurance textbooks and the first to create prelicensing textbooks and courses – beginning in 1993, with the Florida Study Manual for Title Insurance and the 40-Hour Licensing Course for Title Agents. With seven distinct Study Manuals [each 500-700 pages in length] and written from three distinct perspectives – (1) title agent licensure; (2) closing agent licensure or certification; and (3) title examiner licensure or certification – The Koogler Group stands ready to help your state association, underwriting company, or other industry organization, become the leading provider of meaningful education in your state!
